THE RFL JOINS FORCES WITH SPORTSTG TO TRANSFORM GAME ADMINISTRATION
The Rugby Football League (RFL) has made a strong commitment to the modernisation of the sport’s administration after signing a five-year partnership with SportsTG.
The partnership will launch a competition and participant management system across both grassroots and professional levels of the sport.
The platform will allow administrators to manage their competitions digitally, from online team sheets to scheduling games, entering match results to organising Match Officials. Participants will also be able to register and pay their club fees online where applicable.
RFL Chief Operating Officer, Ralph Rimmer, says the competition management system will help the modern day Rugby League administrator run their competitions more efficiently.
“Sport is constantly evolving, and our priority is putting the needs of our community first. We are driving through some considerable change currently in an effort to deliver great Rugby League experiences in everything that we do, and this is a significant step. In particular, we want to help busy volunteers, who give so much to Rugby League, to save time, and to benefit from greater insight into player behaviour and retention. By giving our clubs and leagues the best tools to help run leagues and competitions, we will give even greater value to participants, volunteers and administrators.”
SportsTG has provided the sports industry with leading digital solutions for over 15 years, and boasts a client base that services over 26 National Sporting Organisations across the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
The National Rugby League (NRL) in Australia has been using SportsTG’s competition and membership management system since 2003, and credits the system for helping them to engage with their grassroots players whilst simplifying administration.
In the past two years, SportsTG has seen a 70% increase in clubs opting to move from paper registration forms to processing registrations online, demonstrating the importance for sports to keep up with the needs of their community.

The RFL’s competition and participant management system will be available from early 2017, and will be rolled out across the game in stages.
